Last night, actually 0200 this AM, was Daylight Saving Time. It was 3 week earlier this year than in previous years. Spring foreward, even if it’s not even spring yet!!
Isn’t it about time to end this archaic farce. All of the reasons for it’s implementation are no longer applicable today.
We are no longer a society based on agriculture, so the effect it has on agriculture is inconsequential. Most of today’s farm equipment is now equiped with ultra-bright lights which enable farm workers to work at night. I know this for a fact because I am often blinded by their lights when they are working near the road on which i’m travelling.
The theory that it saves energy has pretty much been debunked. The energy saved by not having to turn on the lights earlier is offset by more people out running around in their gas-guzzling SUV’s.
Lets face it folks, the only reason we still have Daylight Saving Time is commercial. Big Business can sell more widgits if people don’t have to venture out in the dark to buy them.
In my humble opinion, it is time to JUST PICK ONE or the other, and make it permanent. End this nonsensical charade. Stand up “sheeple”. Say no to Daylight Saving Time…..
